A vaxxed-up spokesperson for Speaker Nancy Pelosi tested positive for COVID-19 Monday after meeting last week with democratic Texas lawmakers who fled to Washington D.C.
Drew Hammill, a top aide to Pelosi, said the staffer was fully vaccinated and did not have recent contact with the Speaker, Fox News reports. However, Pelosi’s office is still taking extra precautions.
“Yesterday, a fully-vaccinated senior spokesperson in the Speaker’s Press Office tested positive for COVID after contact with members of the Texas state legislature last week,” Hammill said in a statement. “This individual has had no contact with the Speaker since exposure. The entire Press Office is working remotely today with the exception of individuals who have had no exposure to the individual or have had a recent negative test. Our office will continue to follow the guidance of the Office of Attending Physician closely.”
As previously reported by Human Events News, out of the 59 lawmakers that fled from Texas to Washington D.C. to deny the republican-controlled legislature quorum during a special session, six have tested positive for COVID-19, all of whom were fully vaccinated.
Separately, a White House official who attended the same event as the Pelosi staffer also tested positive for the virus.
