The ruling from the Supreme Court on President Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act¬†did not come Monday, thus indicating that the high court would hand down its decision on Obamacare Thursday, June 28.
The centerpiece of Barack Obama‚??s first term, the president called the health care law the “most important piece of social legislation since the Social Security Act passed in the 1930s and the most important reform of our health care system since Medicare passed in the 1960s.”
The administration had argued that the law’s most contentious element — the individual mandate — was constitutional under the Commerce Clause and the Necessary and Proper Clause. It also asserted that the mandate was Congress’s tax power.
In a recent survey of 58 legal experts, most believed that  the court would strike down individual mandate.
