Earlier I criticized Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry for abandoning the defense of capitalism to pile on Mitt Romney, and score some cheap political points from Romney’s “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me” comment.
Not only did Rick Santorum refuse to join Huntsman and Perry in the gutter, he offered a defense of both Romney’s private-sector career, and capitalism, on Sean Hannity’s TV show last night. I wonder if Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich could do as well. I’d sure love to find out.
By the way, in the true spirit of capitalism, Santorum is now selling his signature sweater vests online. You can get one for making a $100 donation at his website. They’re 100% cotton, made in the USA, and come in your choice of grey, grey, or grey. Keep in mind that Santorum says he wears them because they make him look older. I’m afraid to put one on, because I already look pretty old, and it might turn me into a skeleton.
