On December 7, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will come to Polk County, Iowa to campaign for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Christie was originally courted by a number Iowans, including Gov. Terry Branstad, to enter the presidential race before he made the announcement that he wouldn’t run. After announcing that he wouldn’t run, Christie threw his weight behind Romney shortly thereafter.

The Christie endorsement has been the largest such endorsement for Romney, who has received the backing from a number of prominent senators and governors.
