You really have to wonder where Democrats would be in the PR game over Obama’s debt crisis if they didn’t have friendly media outfits like Politico to regurgitate their most inane nonsense. Throughout recent weeks we’ve seen a series of compromises and re-engineered plans from the GOP-controlled House of Representatives and not the slightest inkling of a plan from Obama. He blathered on and on about so-called compromise Monday night during his primetime campaign speech, yet offered none.
We hear this self-serving pap about Obama being the adult in the room, which may be the case when he’s hanging out with pre-schoolers. Mere scare tactics from Obama just aren’t enough. Now they’ve really got to scare the daylights out of people.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chair of the Democratic National Committee, said Wednesday that House Republicans are trying to impose “dictatorship” through their tactics in the debt-ceiling negotiations. She said the GOP rhetoric could “spark panic and chaos,” which she called “potentially devastating” to the economy.
Has anyone seen the GOP out there lately trying to run people’s lives, let alone establish themselves as dictators? If mushy-headed, mamby-pamby compromise and propping up Obama is striving for dictatorship, then we’re in for the gentlest dictatorship mankind has ever seen.
DWS is projecting just a bit much.
“Aren’t we at the point where the closer we get to chaos, the more concern that there should be about coming to the table and compromising with Democrats?” Wasserman Schultz asked.
Does this strange woman really think the Republicans haven’t been compromising? We’ve got one side compromising and making concession after concession, and a White House that refuses to budge even an inch. And here this woman is claiming they won’t come to the table?
This is not leadership. This is almost like dictatorship. I know they want to force the outcome that … their extremists would like to impose. But they are getting ready to spark panic and chaos, and they seem to be OK with that. And it’s just really disappointing, and potentially devastating.”
It’s quite clear this token member of the Democrat leadership (now there’s an oxymoron) is way in over her head, as every public utterance of hers is more obscenely over the top than the previous one. She’s not doing her party any favors, so we merely ask her one favor: Just keep talking. You’re doing a great public service, Debbie, and you’ll surely be rewarded next November. If she thinks she’s already living in a quasi-dictatorship, we eagerly anticipate her reaction to a Republican President, Senate and House.
