Bus Bomb In Jerusalem

A bomb has detonated at a bus station in central Jerusalem, injuring at least 25 people, four of them seriously, according to the Jerusalem Post.  So far, no fatalities have been reported.

The weapon appears to have been something similar to the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) used by terrorist forces in Iraq.  Israeli authorities are searching the area for additional devices.  The Post says the public has been “advised to stay out of the area.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Force has gone on high alert in southern Israel, in preparation for an expected barrage of rocket attacks from Hamas terror operatives in the Gaza Strip.  This would be a response to the Israeli airstrikes against Hamas that took place yesterday, an irrational over-reaction by the Jewish state to the little thunderclouds which occasionally float over Israel and rain artillery shells on civilian populations.  The escalator to a new war in Gaza continues rolling upward.

Update: There has now been one confirmed fatality from the bomb attack, a 60-year-old woman.
