Rick Santorum at CPAC: Faith in American Politics

Former Senator Rick Santorum spoke yesterday with HUMAN EVENTS editor Jason Mattera after his CPAC speech.

Santorum makes a very fundamental point when he describes the loss of faith in America’s politicians, yet this to some to extent reflects the even more primary loss of faith in American politics as a system.  How many of us have despondently thrown up our arms in desparation over the lack of impact our vote will have.

The former senator, however, notes that our leaders need to be “believable” and “authentic” if we are to recapture the real strength of our republic and of our democracy.  Let’s hope that such leaders emerge from the 2011 CPAC.
