Pelosi Elected As Minority Leader

Remember that insurgent bid for Minority Leader that Health Shuler of North Carolina was talking about?  Never mind.  Nancy Pelosi has just been re-elected to the House Democrats’ top leadership position, which is now Minority Leader.

In retrospect, it seems obvious that the Democrats would want to retain her dazzling leadership, since she had all sorts of accomplishments, and even threw a huge party to celebrate them.

Meanwhile, Republicans celebrated Pelosi’s accomplishments by electing John Boehner of Ohio as the 61st Speaker of the House.  Boehner ran uncontested.
