Newt Gingrich, a possible 2012 presidential candidate, was thrilled with the Republican wins in the midterm elections. In an exclusive interview backstage at his Election Night event in Washington, D.C., Gingrich told me that the 2010 Republican landslide “validates that the country is hungry for a new direction, that the country wants real solutions.”
Also, the former Speaker of the House listed specific ways that the new GOP congressional leaders can cut government spending: go back to pre-Obama 2008 budget levels, end earmarks, and zero out the White House czars.
Watch the video below to hear Gingrich on his favorites from the freshmen class in Congress, his presidential ambitions, and the Republican legislative agenda.
