In his weekly press conference this morning, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will demand House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) pledge at her on-camera presser today to allow an up-or-down vote on Democrats proposed tax hikes on small business this year.
Democrats leadership wants limited tax breaks, singling out small business owners for a crippling year-end tax increase.
Democrat leaders are afraid a vote to block the tax hikes on business would succeed so the current class warfare game plan is to use their majority status to block that vote from ever taking place.
HUMAN EVENTS got a sneek peek at Boehner’s remarks as planned for delivery.
“On the issue of job-killing tax hikes, the American people are not going to accept anything less than the vote they deserve,” Boehner is expected to say at his presser. “The Speaker should pledge to the American people — when she stands before the cameras later today — that she’ll allow an honest up-or-down vote before Congress adjourns this fall on legislation to stop all of the coming tax hikes. Anything less is unacceptable. If the Speaker allows an up-or-down vote, we’re confident our plan to stop all the tax hikes will pass.”
