The American Bar Association has given Elena Kagan its highest ranking, “well-qualified,” for her nomination to the United States Supreme Court. There was one absention.
The Judicial Crisis Network issued the below response:
"This rating says more about the ABA itself than it does about Elena Kagan. It shows that the ABA has abdicated its self-proclaimed role of passing judgment on the qualifications of judicial nominees. This is further proof, for those who need it, that the ABA standing committee has become politicized and operates as an institutional arm of liberal ideology. The ABA has sunk to the level of the Nobel Prize committee, who recently awarded their Peace Prize to a head of state nominated before he had been in office for six weeks."
