For eight long years we were treated to leftists decrying the Bush administration and Republicans. Their motto was “If you aren’t outraged, you haven’t been paying attention.” Now this same group is outraged that we are paying attention. They are outraged that we are outraged. And they are now playing at a most dangerous game. Congressman Henry Waxman intends to haul before Congress corporations that have told their employees to expect increased health care costs because of Obamacare. This is behavior that can indisputably be described as soviet behavior. If McCarthyism was about hounding out communists and their sympathizers, the left seems intent on creating their own version of McCarthyism, which we can call Waxmania — silencing capitalists. We have seen this abuse over and over from the Democrats in the past year. Waxman is a chief abuser, wanting to haul in insurance companies and other companies that have opposed the left’s agenda. Barack Obama himself encouraged his supporters to bring guns to knife fights and get in conservatives’ faces. Where was the media handwringing back then over incitement? Why wasn’t the media bothering to mention, at least, the bipartisan “fighting words” in the past week? Please click here for the rest of the post.
Looking at Instapundit, I would note Barack Obama has had a dead cat bounce in the polls. Sure he went up a bit after the health care vote, but the numbers fell again. The Democrats had hoped for increased momentum after the vote. They aren’t going to get it. The Politico reports Obama intends to pursue expanded socialist policies including destroying the financial sector, destroying the energy sector, and keeping the education sector destroyed — something George Bush did with No Child Left Behind. Obama is calculating that he will have renewed energy because of the health care vote passing. If the Democrats can stay united, perhaps. But their unity is leading them off a cliff. So be it. Some Republicans continue to fumble the clearest, most concise, easiest-to-sell message in recent memory – the simple notion that the recently enacted Healthcare law, already having negative effects on our lives, is unacceptable and must be fully repealed. That’s not hard, is it? Some Senators get it. Senator DeMint has 15 Senate co-sponsors and growing for his full-repeal bill. And then there’s the almost always reliable Congressman Mike Pence, who said today in the WSJ: “The American people don’t want a government takeover of health care and House Republicans will work every day to repeal this law and start over.” Amen. But, apparently for some Republicans – from all across the spectrum – this simple message is lost on them. To wit . . . Please click here for the rest of the post.
The timing of the event is a little vague, but I was engaged in a civil debate at a undisclosed location covered and recorded in detail by the media about the legislative atrocity known as HCR when Frank Rich of the New York Times physically assaulted me. Like a Jack Torrance induced nightmare came this maddened journalist bursting through the crowd hurling cruel racial and sexually perverted epithets like white trash teabagger, liberally spitting on me and others in the discussion, and just as he was about to stab me with his long knife of unknown length… he disappeared without a trace. I had not heeded the warnings of the press that these events can be as dangerous as a Klan meeting that could definitely, possibly culminate in people being dragged out into the streets and beaten to death. So I admit it’s partially my fault for knowingly placing myself in such a potentially well-documented violent environment as a discussion on HCR. There are some strange circumstances that attributed to my victimization however that need to be discussed so that others can avoid being attacked by this vile, violent racist and others of his ilk. I’m especially pleased to announce this morning that Obama has made 15 recess appointments. Honestly, I’m not all that concerned with who these people are NOR do I care about what they’ve been given a temp assignment to do. I’m sure these things matter to the right people in the right circles though. More’s the pity for them, I suppose. What does deserve note, however, is Obama’s attitude about it. I’ve been talking about the dangers of Net Neutrality and the neo-Marxist FCC for some time at RedState. However events are picking up speed, especially with Obamacare now out of the way. It’s time I laid everything back out from the beginning. There are two major plans that the Obama FCC, headed by Chairman Julius Genachowski, has in store for us. Net Neutrality and a National Broadband Plan. Net Neutrality is the more misleading issue, though, and has the greater external push behind it, so the majority of the talk on the Internet is about that. They’re both dangerous, though. Here’s why. Please click here for the rest of the post.
What I know that you now know is that Bob Bennett really is toast. The delegate math does not work out for Bob according to people I’m close to connected to all the other camps and the Utah GOP. There is no path to victory for Bennett it would seem. Deals could be cut and that could be changed, but that’s the way things stand this morning. Which might explain why Utah’s Governor, Gary Herbert, is now comfortably taking a dig at Bennett. Please click here for the rest of the post.
