Pro-Life Group’s Latest Vote Count Confirms a Solid Stupak Voting Bloc

President of pro-life organization says there’s still a ‘very solid’ Stupak voting bloc and an additional 8-10 Democrats still considering.

Dr. Charmaine Yoest, president of Americans United for Life, told HUMAN EVENTS Saturday afternoon there is still a “very solid” Stupak voting bloc by her organization’s count. Rep. Bart Stupak is the pro-life Democrat who organized a coalition threatening to vote against the health care legislation because it fails to protect against federally funded abortions.

Yoest also said there are an additional 8-10 Democrats, apart from those ready to vote pro-life, who are still considering how to vote on the issue.

Yoest has spent Saturday on Capitol Hill meeting with those who have attended the health care rallies and also the representatives.
