Democrats are one step further along in their plans for the complete government takeover of health care. The Baucus legislative outline bill plan passed out of the Senate Finance Committee yesterday. As soon as the media spotlight dimmed, the “bill” was immediately ditched for the real bill being written in cloistered meetings by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Chris “Countrywide” Dodd and White House operatives under the direction of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
So far, the only Republican taken in by the Democrats’ smoke and mirrors is Sen. Olympia Snowe (RINO-Me.), who voted in favor of passing the Baucus “bill” out of committee.
The lead Republican on the Finance Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, hit an out-of-the-park grand slam during his assessment of the “bill” in opening remarks at the hearing before the vote. An excerpt:
“It has the biggest expansion of Medicaid since it was created in 1965.
“It imposes an unprecedented federal mandate for coverage backed by the enforcement authority of the Internal Revenue Service.
“It increases the size of the government by at least $1.8 trillion when fully implemented.
“It gives the secretary of Health and Human Services the power to define benefits for every private plan in America and to redefine those benefits annually. That’s a lot of power over people’s lives.
“It will cause health care premiums for millions to go up, not down.
“It tightens further the new federal rating bands for insurance rates. That means that millions who are expecting lower costs as a result of health reform will end up paying more in the form of higher premiums. The new rating reforms alone will raise premiums by as much as 50 percent on millions.
“It imposes new fees and taxes. These new fees and taxes will total about a half trillion dollars over the next few years. On the front end, these fees and taxes will cause premium increases as early as 2010 even before most of the reforms take effect.
“Then after forcing health premiums to go up, this bill makes it mandatory to buy it.”

Racist Media Smear Campaign against Rush Limbaugh
As news leaked out this week of Rush Limbaugh’s minority participation in a deal to buy the St. Louis Rams NFL football team, the apoplectic liberal media launched a smear campaign in an attempt to label Rush a racist.
Rush spoke on his radio program yesterday of letters, formal requests for retraction and possible legal action against the perpetrators.
RUSH LIMBAUGH: When I started this radio program in 1988, I had never been called a racist, a bigot, a sexist, a homophobe. People who knew me never thought that. It was ridiculous. But then I got on the radio as a conservative and all of a sudden I started being attacked as a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. And I didn’t know what to do about it. It had never happened, and there was nobody that could give me any guidance. I just got a bunch of advice and there are basically two pieces of advice I got. “Rush, you gotta hit back! You can’t let people make those claims about you and try to ruin your reputation and smear you. You gotta fight back on that!”
So I would take that advice and I would respond to it, and the critics would just (rubbing hands together) laugh with glee, “A-ha! We must have hit a home run. Limbaugh’s upset,” and they would just add to the smears. And then other people said, “Look, you’re bigger than all that combined. You just have to ignore it because if you acknowledge it, you just elevate it and more and more people hear about it than otherwise would,” and those are always the two options that you have. Now, there are mitigating factors, that is, I think when race is brought into it that you can’t let stand. If people are trying to destroy your reputation and your credibility, your life and your career by attacking you as a racist, then you have to stand up and fight that. Now, we are in the process behind the scenes working to get apologies and retractions with the force of legal action against every journalist who has published these entirely fabricated quotes about me, slavery, and James Earl Ray. I never said them.
On the cutting edge of societal evolution, it only stands to reason that Rush would be the one forced to take on the tyranny of a media that has become so ideologically driven that they simply resort to making things up these days in an effort to destroy the lives and careers of those with whom they disagree.
It’s breathtaking to behold.
There is a constant chorus of media harpies positively foaming at the mouth over Rush because he is the most effective spokesman for conservatism alive today. Rush enjoys a loyal listenership in the tens of millions because he is a living, breathing embodiment of the principles that have made this country the greatest in the history of humankind.
Rush Limbaugh embraces America’s greatness. He is unapologetic about the fruits of unbridled capitalism. The sorry excuse for journalists in the “mainstream” media we have in America today simply can not live with the fact that Rush Limbaugh earns hundreds of millions of dollars by speaking on the radio to millions of people every day about conservatism. They just can’t bear it.
On to the Superbowl, Rush.
