Michelle Malkin, blogger, columnist and conservative author, is feeling the backlash of her book’s success in the form of racial slurs. Malkin’s latest book, Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies, raced to number one on Amazon’s sales rankings less than 24 hours after its release. But it was Malkin’s appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” that prompted a flurry of racist e-mails to the right-wing commentator.
Malkin blogged Tuesday morning about the hateful e-mails she received including several calling her an “Oriental” and “an Asian who forgot where she is coming from.” Another called her a “stupid Asian” who Americans feel sorry for. Taking it in stride, Malkin wrote, “[S]o much for post-racial America! Why don’t we all just have a beer and stop racial profiling, hmmm?”
Her reviews at Amazon.com were much more positive, with the exception of a single reviewer who called her a “self hating anchor baby.” Marji Ross, President and Publisher of Regnery Publishing, calls the slurs a feeble attempt to distract from the carefully researched corruption detailed in Malkin’s book.
Malkin is scheduled to continue her Culture of Corruption media tour with an appearance on FOX News Channel’s Glenn Beck on Tuesday night and NBC’s “Today Show” on Wednesday morning. Malkin will also be a guest on several top radio programs, including the Mark Levin Show and the Laura Ingraham Show. She’ll also spar with the ladies on “The View” next Monday. Malkin is a guest on FOX News Channel’s FOX & Friends every Thursday.
