Release of More Prisoner ‘Abuse’ Photos ‘Anti-American,’ Says Gingrich

Former Speaker of the House also says classified documents should be handled in ‘classified manner’…

As he was going in to testify at the “global warming” House hearing today, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke briefly to HUMAN EVENTS.

When asked about the Obama administration’s plan to release more garish photos of terrorist detainee interrogations, Gingrich said, “I think that is a sick, anti-American behavior.”

A moment before, we also asked Gingrich about the controversy swirling around Speaker Pelosi, who denies that she had been made aware of the harsh interrogation methods used in 2002, including waterboarding.

Gingrich said, “I think the House should adopt a resolution that no documents relating to any of the briefings should be destroyed until there’s a thorough investigation.”

He added, however, that if the information is classified, it should be treated accordingly.

“Unlike this administration, I think it ought to be dealt with in a classified manner,” Gingrich said.
