Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), chairman of the Republican Study Committee (a caucus of House conservatives), released this response to President Obama’s address to Congress Tuesday night. Price said he was encouraged to hear a slightly more positive tone from the President and that the President and House conservatives mostly agree on the issues that need to be addressed. Price called, however, for principled solutions and pointed out Congressional Democrats have used American taxpayers as the tool to spend their way to prosperity.
Price also reminded Americans that it was the understanding that the people, not the government, would lead the way to prosperity and stability.
“Fiscal restraint must be more than just a talking point,” Price said. “Let’s put more money back in people’s pockets.”
