If you’ve ever wondered what a community organizer really does, Stanley Kurtz of the New York Post makes the connection between the organization under fire for voter registration fraud, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and the large part they played in the sub-prime mortgage crisis. From the link:
“In the name of fairness to minorities, community organizers occupy private offices, chant inside bank lobbies, and confront executives at their homes – and thereby force financial institutions to direct hundreds of millions of dollars in mortgages to low-credit customers.”
“In other words, community organizers help to undermine the US economy by pushing the banking system into a sinkhole of bad loans. And Obama has spent years training and funding the organizers who do it.”
Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) on Saturday compared John McCain to segregationist George Wallace of Alabama. From the Fox News link:
"What I am seeing reminds me of too much of another destructive period in American history," Lewis said in a statement released to FOX News. "Senator McCain and Governor Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse."
"George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights," Lewis added. "Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama."
Obama financier Jodie Evans has since 2003 been traveling the globe meeting with folks like the Castro brothers, Hugo Chavez, Saddam Hussein and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, working with enemies of the United States to undermine U.S. troops. From the link:
“Jodie Evans, co-founder of the leftist anti-American group Code Pink, has documented ties to governments on the State Department’s list of current and former state sponsors of terrorism including Iran, Cuba, Syria and the former Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein. She also has endorsed and worked with the so-called Iraqi resistance that has killed over three thousand American soldiers and thousands of free Iraqis.”
“Evans is listed on the official Obama website as a bundler of between $50,000 and $100,000 in contributions. According to FEC reports, the official Obama website and news accounts, Evans has personally contributed over $40,000 to the Obama campaign — $4600 to Obama for America and around $36,000 to the Obama Victory Fund.”

Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner is in the middle of another controversy. Last week, a federal judge ruled that she was illegally withholding voter registrations from county elections boards for verification of identities before counting same-day registration votes. Now, Brunner is reportedly using intimidation tactics against reporter Tiffany Wilson of Palestra.net, a college news outlet affiliated with Fox News. Wilson has asked repeatedly for an interview to answer statements made on camera by a member of a supposed non-partisan group who was telling the homeless people she was registering to vote to vote for Barack Obama. One Ohio woman told Wilson that a member of ACORN attempted to get her to register and vote multiple times. You can read the back and forth on Wilson’s blog.
Obama advisor and former CEO of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines, was paid tens of millions of dollars during his six-year tenure using Enron-style accounting practices that are now under investigation by the FBI. Raines just purchased a new three-bedroom, seven-bath penthouse condominium in the West End’s Ritz-Carlton Residences in D.C. for $4.9 million.
