Say It Ain’t So, Joe

The only vice-presidential debate of this election season is now in the history books, and Gov. Sarah Palin walked away the obvious winner, handily dispatching Sen. Joe Biden with facts, warmth, humor and a shout out to third-graders, dog-gone it!  Republicans have every right to be re-enthused about Palin and the game-changing momentum she injected into the race last night.

Say it ain’t so, Joe!

Biden looked at times completely ruffled, even angry, for example during his tirade about Article One of the United States Constitution, lecturing Palin as he erroneously described the article as enumerating the federal power of the executive instead of his own legislative branch.  When he was cornered about several of his own and Barack Obama’s controversial leftist votes in the Senate, he simply lied saying that John McCain also voted against things such as funding for the troops.  It was an absurdly embarrassing display for middle-America of the worst of the worst stereotype of a slimy politician in Washington.

I will reiterate advice given here to Palin weeks ago:  any future interviews with the so-called mainstream media should be done in a live or live-to-tape format.  You are a super star and you should not let the hostile media edit your interviews into something you’re not.

The vice-presidential debate is available in its entirety on YouTube.com. The next presidential debate is Tuesday.

Radical cooking of the polls

The media watchdog website Newsbusters.org reported on a scandalous manipulation of polling yesterday by the Associated Press and their pollster, GfK Roper Public Affairs and Media.  Cooking with AP: Polls radically change party mix to fabricate an Obama trend  thoroughly documents the “over seasoning” of the presidential race polling with Democrats to make the outcome appear that Obama is surging in the polls.

Obama’s outreach to people of faith began last week in what his campaign calls the “Faith Tour.”  The effort is off to a rocky beginning as his Virginia outreach drew only 15 people to the meeting.  The American Spectator reports on the direct assault on pre-born babies planned by Obama should he be elected President as part of the reason why this outreach is failing miserably.  From the link:   “By one stroke of the pen, Obama will increase abortions in the United States by 125,000 per year, at minimum. Calculating this increase starts with the Freedom of Choice Act, which Obama says is his top presidential priority. FOCA is a bill in the U.S. Congress that will do for abortion in the 21st century what the ERA would have done for radical feminism in the 1970s.”

And now for something completely different, last night’s absolute slugfest between Bill O’Reilly and Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) over his mishandling of his Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac oversight responsibilities is must-see TV!

Unfortunately, O’Reilly either did not know or chose not to ask Frank about his former lover and self-described “spouse,” Herb Moses, an executive at Fannie Mae who, according to reports, worked on the development of the low-income lending programs at the heart of this sub-prime lending disaster.  The two split up when Moses left Fannie Mae.
