Democrats Threaten Jewish Groups Organizing Rally

Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin Tuesday met separately with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and with Henry Kissinger while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.  Reporters were barred from each of the private meetings but, after protest from several media outlets, cameras were allowed in prior to the meetings for a photo op.

McCain and Palin are scheduled for joint meetings Wednesday with Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. Palin will later meet separately with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

On Monday, we reported Hillary Clinton pulling out of the Stop Iran Now Rally and Democrats pressuring Jewish groups to pull Sarah Palin’s invitation to speak at the rally.  Reports surfaced yesterday that Democrats actually threatened Jewish groups  with investigations and the loss of their tax-exempt status if they allowed Palin to speak at the rally.  In the wake of this controversy, the rally was a monumental flop.  The Jewish Action Alliance in concert with other organizations have regrouped and are protesting a dinner hosted by Hyatt heir and Obama finance chair Penny Pritzker at her Grand Hyatt Hotel honoring Iranian President Mahmoud “Israel is a stinking corpse” Ahmadinejad.  Sarah Palin has been invited to speak at the protest.

In the latest AP poll, Obama has not made any gains with Hillary Clinton voters, Obama’s numbers have not changed since June when Clinton dropped out having lost the nomination.

Conducted by respected pollsters Kellyanne Conway and Celinda Lake, the Lifetime Every Woman Counts Poll details stunning gains for the McCain-Palin ticket among most likely women voters.  McCain is actually in a statistical tie in the poll, two percentage points ahead of Barack Obama.  From the link:  “Since picking Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain has obliterated what had been a 34-percentage-point deficit in a poll of likely women voters on the question of which candidate has a ‘better understanding of women and what is important’ to them.”

On NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday, Barack Obama attacked Joe Biden, his own running mate, for actually taking a position on the AIG bailout using similar wording to McCain.  In an interview with CBS’ Katie Couric, Joe Biden attacked Barack Obama, his own running mate, for the Obama-Biden campaign ad belittling John McCain for not using email.  Perhaps they got tired of picking on a woman?

In another odd Democrat moment, impeached former president Bill Clinton gave a creepy rundown of why folks think Sarah Palin is “hot out there,” before going on to describe in disturbing detail why people across America would like everything about Sarah Palin and her family - so much so that the reporter was compelled several times to remind the reader that Bill Clinton supports Barack Obama in the election.  Clinton said, “People look at her, and they say, ‘All those kids. Something that happens in everybody’s family. I’m glad she loves her daughter and she’s not ashamed of her. Glad that girl’s going around with her boyfriend. Glad they’re going to get married.’”  Much more at the link.
