First Lady Laura Bush Well-Liked, but Don’t Run for Senate Just Yet

Despite a her husband’s tumultous presidency, First Lady Laura Bush has maintained very high approval ratings compared to her peers.

Right now, the First Lady enjoys a 82% approval rating, well over the President’s own rank of 43%.

A February 9 Gallup Poll revealed that Hillary Cliniton only averaged a 63% approval rating while her husband was in office, reaching a one-time high of 80% in Febraury 1999.

However, the polls showed that most  Americans would not like to see Mrs. Bush run for Senate as Mrs. Clinton did. 53% reported they did not favor the FLOTUS making a senatorial bid, but 40% said they would like to see the First Lady run for Senate someday.
