A group of young, conservative women engage their political adversaries at the University of Virginia, Human Events U has learned.

The Network of Enlightened Women (NeW) challenged the University Democrats to a debate last night concerning the controversial play The Vagina Monologues.

Karin Agness, Founder of NeW, and Meredith Ramsey, President of NeW at UVa, argued that The Vagina Monologues is not the answer to fighting violence against women. "The play is crude, anti-male and degrades women. It is ridiculous that feminists claim they find empowerment in this play," says Agness.

The NeW founder was happy that almost 100 people attended the show-down since they only advertised the event for two days. "The audience was 80% against us, which was obvious in the way they reacted to our speeches," says Agness. But, she says those who watched the debate "wanted to learn more about our perspective."

You can learn more about Agness’s view of feminism and The Vagina Monologues by reading a column she recently wrote.
