With less than a week to go before House Republicans pick their new majority leader, conservative favorite John Shadegg (Ariz.) has picked up some key endorsements from prominent members.
First, House Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner (Wis.) announced for Shadegg. He was followed by Republican Study Committee Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.), representing the conservative wing of the GOP conference, and then Rep. Charles Bass (N.H.), representing the "moderate" New England wing of the conference.
Also among those publicly endorsing Shadegg last week were Representatives Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Dave Weldon (Fla.) and Frank Wolf (Va.).
