Miers for Gore?

Mike Krempasky over at Red State reports that in the 1980s Harriet Miers made major contributions to Democrats like Al Gore and Lloyd Bentsen.

This, in and of itself, is not a deal breaker for conservatives.  Some of my favorite Republicans were once Democrats (see Ronald Reagan).  Besides, in the 80s, Gore and Bentsen were considered to be moderate-to-conservative Southern Democrats.  I know Gore was once supported by the Right to Life and the NRA, for example.

But this is still interesting.  I’m guessing Mike simply went to http://www.tray.com/ or http://www.fec.gov/ and did a quick search on her name.  I hope he’s not the only one who did this sort of checking . . .
