Bad Cop:

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.), who, as Democratic whip, engineered his party?¢â??¬â??¢s judicial filibusters in order to appease pro-abortion groups?¢â??¬ ¦quot;and whom the Washington Post nonetheless insists on calling ?¢â??¬???an anti-abortion lawmaker?¢â??¬ ?¢â??¬ ¦quot;played bad cop to Leahy?¢â??¬â??¢s good cop on the Roberts confirmation. ?¢â??¬???I must resolve my doubts in favor of the American people whose rights would be in jeopardy if John Roberts turns out to be the wrong person for the job,?¢â??¬ said Reid. Presumably, among the ?¢â??¬???rights?¢â??¬ Reid worries Roberts could jeopardize is the ?¢â??¬???right?¢â??¬ to abortion, which Reid supposedly opposes.
