Sen. Edward Kennedy (D.-Mass.) appeared yesterday with law professors who wrote a letter urging that President Bush be impeached because of Iraqi prisoner abuse, the AP reported. While not endorsing the idea, Kennedy opined that the best solution "is to elect John Kerry."
Kennedy deferred to the professors when asked about the possibility of impeachment. He did say that the administration should be held accountable and subject to questioning about the abuse.
More than 400 legal scholars, including Alan Dershowitz of Harvard and Rev. Robert Drinan of Georgetown, signed the letter.
