Death threats leveled against Rush Limbaugh

Dan Riehl at Breitbart.com hears the warm purr of liberal tolerance rumbling from the Left, which is growing somewhat vexed that radio host Rush Limbaugh hasn’t ceased to exist yet:

The death threats to Rush are captured in several screen grabs of his Facebook page. “Execute Rush, now!” states one; “Don’t just drop sponsorship someone kill this pig now please!!!!,” reads another. These and others are documented below, with images and names obscured, so as to not be guilty of fueling the same targeted hatred the White House and Democrats have now gone to great lengths to stoke.

[…] “I think karma got a death grip on breitbart, I think his passing is inspirational. Hopefully rush will die next,” reads another message directed at Limbaugh. Meanwhile, in comments posted at the L.A. Times Facebook wall, still undeleted as this article is written, readers state that it “would be nice to see that fat douche taken down but I’m not holding my breath”; “crossing fingers for a huge heart attack,” and so on.

Lovely people, aren’t they?  Well, at least they never, ever say rude things to women.  Just ask Michelle Malkin!

As Riehl notes, we’re watching a pressure cooker of Limbaugh hatred boil over, fueled by a level of political and media synergy conservatives can only marvel at.

In what appears to be overt coordination with the White House, the Democratic Party, and organizations such as Media Matters for America, the left has pressed home what it sees as a sudden political opportunity provided by Rush’s provocative reaction–despite his apology. The goal is not to protect women–who are frequently mocked by liberal talk show hosts without protest–but to force Rush, one of the most effective forces in conservative media, off the airwaves.

This is the sort of thing the rise of Fox News only hints at for the Right.  Liberals aren’t really mad at Fox for dishonesty – they can never produce any examples of it during their anti-Fox rants, and they turn purple when reminded of blatant liberal journalistic frauds like RatherGate.  What drives the Left nuts is that Fox can pick up and amplify stories the Left would rather ignore, reducing the time lag from blogosphere chatter to water-cooler conversation.

Political and media synergy is a function of time, and the Right simply cannot reproduce anything like the Democrats’ synchronized war on religious liberty, beginning with bizarre out-of-nowhere questions from political operative George Stephanopolous at a Republican debate, and ending with the high-speed snowball of the Fluke affair.  In a matter of hours, Democrat political operatives coordinated with media allies to create a set of entirely false “facts” that “everybody knows” – Sandra Fluke is a wide-eyed 23-year old innocent college student testifying before Congress, she’s trapped in a cruel educational institution that is bankrupting her by refusing to pay for her contraception, and powerful media figure “called her a slut” on the air.  The Democrats’ dopey “War on Women” campaign was launched almost immediately after this narrative was chiseled in media stone.

Now that the Left has been worked into a frenzy, however, they are being denied climax.  Limbaugh’s not going anywhere.  He announced today that he’s signing new advertisers, and said that two of those who earlier pulled out of his show are “begging to come back.”  People are starting to buzz about the odious misogynistic garbage some of those other, supposedly pious advertisers are happy to support.  A great deal of attention has been focused on Limbaugh, and the Left keeps forgetting that he’s very good at retaining attention.

This leaves inarticulate hatemongers quivering with rage as they post death threats, while the more sober elements of the liberal coalition look for productive ways to invest the unpleasant energy they have harvested – ideally before people come back around to the absurd nonsense Sandra Fluke was actually peddling, in a photo op deliberately misrepresented as a congressional hearing, or the broader outrage against economic and religious liberty she was trying to defend.  They might also remember that no one was particularly worried about the cost and availability of contraception before this little circus began.

Besides pumping out fundraising letters, the other obvious ploy for Democrats is to use the evanescent anti-Limbaugh rage against political targets.  The Hill reports on one such example:

Democrats are seeking to turn the recent controversy over Rush Limbaugh into a problem for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, with one House Democrat suggesting this week that Romney is at fault for Limbaugh’s ability to stay on the air.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) said it is “unquestionably” fair to tie Limbaugh to the GOP candidates, especially Romney.

“The fact is, Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, he’s got a conflict of interest, and you can’t have a leader like that,” he told Current TV’s “The Young Turks” on Tuesday night.

Bain Capital, the private-equity firm Romney co-founded in 1984, acquired Clear Channel, which hosts Limbaugh’s syndicated show, in 2008.

Yes, Cohen said this on the tiny TV network founded by Al Gore, which continues to employ the odious woman-hater Keith Olbermann, whose misogynistic remarks come in the form of spittle-flecked personal tirades, not satirical misfires.  No, Cohen doesn’t get the irony, and neither does any other liberal.  All they know is that a very tenuous connection between Limbaugh and Romney has been established – Romney co-founded a firm 28 years ago that purchased the network hosting Limbaugh’s program 4 years ago – and they’re going to tug on that frayed thread until it snaps.  Rage must be consumed quickly, before it turns rancid.

I have to say, I saw the title of this article and my first thought was, “What else is new?”

  • jagscl

Rush will survive this IF Clear Channel doesn’t slink away.  Rush’s listeners certainly won’t.  Limbaugh is a constant burr in the liberals’ saddles and I hope this ends up making them look like the haters they really are.

  • WEBIII

    jagscl;
If people can’t see them for the haters they really are by now then this won’t help.

  • jagscl

Probably right, but there may be a few near the middle who might and every mind changed is a good thing.  I just don’t see how anyone can’t see the hate that oozes from democrats/liberals.

And President Obama will still win another term!

  • Niniane

The Demoncrats just won’t let this die. Just because Bain Capital bought Clear Channel, it does not mean that they were there to decide day-to-day programming. Bain saw a business model which was possibly successful with the cut of businesses and invested. Four years ago, when Bain offered to buy out shareholders Romney was busy on the campaign trail for president. For the Demoncrats to suggest he personally made the decision to buy the company because of his love of Rush is ridiculous, but then that is what libs continually do — spout the ridiculous.

    Any comment about
     Limbaugh’s porn watching?

  • JohnWIS

So…Wil….do you know all of the reasons behind these relationships?…or are you just being the typical liberal boy spewing guessing game scenarios?

I know lots of women who have had relationships come to an end….doesn’t mean that they are sluttin’ around…..during or after.  I think alot of people will say the same thing.

  • Niniane

What does Ingraham have to do with anything? So what she was dating and engaged to a couple guys — it is nothing to reflect on her or cause her the shame you are trying to ladle on her.

How is your porn watching going or are you frustrated that they just don’t produce new flicks fast enough? While you believe Rush declared war on women, you are really trying to do that yourself.

  • A_Proud_Infidel

Liberals are sluts to their agenda, period.  Part of that agenda is silencing any and all dissent with their propaganda by any means possible, and their campaign against Maha Rush is a fine example.  If you’re liberal and you say something, anyone taking issue with it is “anti-free speech”.  If a Conservative says something, they automatically need to be immolated.   Liberals always parade their hypocrisy as well as their stupidity, this is one fine example.

“Liberals aren’t evil people, they just know so much that isn’t so.” – Ronald Reagan

  • A_Proud_Infidel

Liberals are blithering idiots.  You provide concrete proof of that with every one of your trolling posts!

  • AgTrotter

Once again, a leftist nutcase provides proof that more leftist nutcases might actually listen to Rush than Conservatives. Feel free to keep on listening you total freak.

  • AgTrotter

    Unhinged much?

  • GomeznSA

Wil(fully) obtuse – you are certainly entitled to you ‘opinions’ BUT Rush has repeatedly said that he is  NOT the ‘mouthpiece’ for the GOP – only stubborn or ininformed individuals like you (or democRATs) keep repeating that – as if saying it over and over will somehow make it ‘true’.

  • AgTrotter

Rep. Cohen’s line of reasoning reminds one of the Dark Helmet line from Spaceballs:

    Dark Helmet: I am your father’s brother’s nephew’s cousin’s former roommate.
Lone Starr: What’s that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become.

Good grief, the left is becoming completely unhinged.

Rush should not be talking about anyone. He got caught with Oxycotin. Busted with viagra going to some foriegn country. The one thing the right does it always tries to deflect from its own crazies. Its always the left does it too. The thing is that Rush did it for 3 days and he went way overboard. The sex tapes, slut, whore. She has a lot of sex. COME ON Trotter! It was down right disrespectful! She didnt deserve that.

    “Limbaugh’s
show is now heard on 610 stations and reaches approximately 20 million
    listeners, according to [Kit] Carson.”

    So
who is Kit Carson? A guy known as Rush Limbaugh’s “chief of staff.” In other
words, Rush’s team simply made up the 20 million number and everyone believed
it. He has never, ever presented any evidence to that effect.

    There
are no national numbers for Rush’s radio audience.

  • AgTrotter

“Now that the Left has been worked into a frenzy, however, they are being denied climax”

That statement is incorrect….Here’s the BEST PART of the lunatic-left’s phony “controversy” over Rush’s innocent, but 100% correct, comment: The lunatic-left has shown that they do NOT need “free” contraceptives – the massive, multiple orgasms (which don’t need any contraceptive) they are having over Rush’s comment simply cannot be equaled in any other way, so why waste money on something that is not needed? Now that the lunatic-left’s “free” contraceptives BS has been fully exposed, let’s discuss the REAL ISSUE here: the OBOZO regime’s flagrant violation of the 1st Amendment religious freedom rights of Christians.

  • Sweetrae aka: LeAnn

Trolls like Wil have to keep harping on Limbaugh and birth control because their commie leader has nothing else to run on. He is deliberately destroying this country so he can be the tin horn dictator like one of his idols Hugo Chavez.

Political and media synergy is a function of time, and the Right simply cannot reproduce anything like the Democrats’ synchronized war on religious liberty
    ———————————————–

The synergy you speak of is not only a function of time but also the function of expedience.  As in nothing matters but the cause, and if it means the Left have to shred the unspoken rule book as they do the Constitution to get what they want, they’ll do it.  That function of time would apply equally to both sides if both sides played by the same rules.  As Alinsky said, ” make the enemy play by their own book of rules. ”  Implicit in this is that the Left don’t need no stinking rules,  as we see in the blatant hypocrisy of the venom that spews from the Left.

” that president who raised taxes”

“Very few conservatives then or now were fond of Reagan’s 1982 budget deal, which had to be followed by subsequent tax-raising budget deals. But even with that tax increase, Reagan remained a substantial net tax-cutter.”

    ” raised the debt”

“They want you to know Reagan signed a tax increase bill in 1982, but they don’t want you to know it was done reluctantly and as his part of a bargain with Congress that they would cut spending by $3 for every $1 in the tax increase.
Reagan kept his half of the agreement and signed the bill. The Democratic Congress reneged on their promise in the agreement and increased spending.”

When the reality of the Man-Child’s record is so depressing, a closet man crush over Rush is all you’ve got.

  • Bubbub

    Um… no he isn’t.

  • AKgunguy

Obviously you have NOT listened to Rush Limaugh’s words. I think it is fair to say your radio is on, sure, But are you actually listening? Rush has in my life of listening (since day one of him being national) {thanks Dad} only one time stepped across the ficticious line and then when he did, did it take the masses to force an apology? No. Mr Limbaugh recognized that he had gone the route of the Liberals for which he fights daily. The point is that Mankind is imperfect and Lmabaugh
felt he had made a mistake. He then Apologized. You on the other hand are as most liberals, living in a utopian lala land.

I am and will remain one of the MILLIONS of students of the Limabaugh institute for advanced conservstive studies!

    You’re retarded!
As for Rush’s indescretions with Oxycotin. Look you dope,
the man had a surgery and over the healing process got addicted to Painkillers. Again this is something Limbaugh has been very open about. The man has no secrets, other than this idea from the left he is the GOP mouth piece. Limbaugh fiercley calls out Republicans when they are wrong on issues. But you wouldn’t know that because according to your post you don’t listen to the show.
Oh damn, in the first or second WIL post in this story he writes about Rush and Porn. Sounds to me like you do listen…..
    Who’s telling the truth?

Rush has a 99.6% accuacy according to outside sources.

  • AKgunguy

I think WIL is upset that Laura has dated, been engaged and had the smarts to realize that either she or the intended was not the right match and before acting stupidly the parties involced severed the relationship.
Most conservative minds would call that being responsible. Marriage is a big deal, Committment, and certainly the divorce rate in America backs that up.
Instead of being part of that statistic Laura and above men called it off before it happened.
Wil is a jackass of the highest order, nothnig more.
hater on the leftside of life.

  • AKgunguy

No one is dumb enough to walk away from the $ bought in by Limbaugh!

  • Awkwardly_Scripted

He is in essence preaching to choir. He skews the party line HARD right, and when the mainstream candidates pick up his rhetoric, they lose the moderate/independent base.  He may turn moderate voters off and motivate hard liners to take action, it’s difficult to say which effect is more influential.   Moderates/Independents don’t love him, and rarely support far right candidates, so while he may have profound influence on who comes to power in the GOP, he probably has a more detrimental influence on who gets to sit in the White House.

How can anyone justify death threats>>??

  • Guest

Those hinges broke off years ago as did their sanity.

  • Guest

Death threats are illogical and cowardly. Just get out there and do it already if you dare. We’re all aware that the left are in serious need of mental stability which they can never have because the whole center of their mindset relies on the notion that nobody can be responsible for themselves.

Perhaps in the distant future, a remedy can be found and applied but I doubt any of them will use it as they thoroughly enjoy their rage.

  • Marty0145

Who can’t get birth control?!? To even hint that anyone is currently denied access to birth control is dishonest and completely idiotic. We’re supposed to feel bad for a 30 year old law student at a $45,000 a year law school (which she is attending on scholarsbip) who claims that she is in danger of screwing herself bancrupt because she refuses to cut back on her time in coitus? I’m sorry but WalMart fills birth control pills for under $10 a month without insurance. If sex is that important to her she can forgo two or three beers a month and pay for her own contraceptives. She could also ask the beaus making the late night study sessions so steamy to pony up for the pony up. I shouldn’t have to subsidize her orgasms and that’s what this comes down to. I was not Catholic when I attended a Jesuit university and I recognized there were policy differences between it and state schools or private secular schools.

The only people being attacked are good tax paying people like myself who do not want anyone paying for anything we want and all I ask in return is the same respect from everyone else. Ammo prices have risen in recent years, should everyone buy me ammo? If I protect myself, it saves taxpayers from paying police and the fact my house is safe brings up neighborhood property values. I think you and Fluke owe me a few rounds and range time.

If you think birth control needs to be handed out, open your checkbook and donate to one of the many organizations that shares your concern. Don’t expect everyone else to do the same.

Are you familiar with colloquialisms? If you read my post again you will notice that I said he is great for the GOP vote and bad for the moderate vote. I say this because HE HAS ALREADY ESTABLISHED HIS DISTASTE FOR CENTRISTS AND MODERATE CONSERVATIVES.  If you don’t think that his message turns off the moderate vote, you should evaluate your interest in politics. His hyper-conservative (evangelical, bigoted, anti-intellectual, anti-science) social politics aren’t conducive to capturing the adoration of moderate social conservatives. How is that difficult to understand?

“You are not a prophet, and you do NOT know who votes for who and why.”

So it takes magical powers to read voting trends? You don’t have to be a soothsayer to read the writing on the wall.
Historically, the independent/moderate vote doesn’t go to the party
fringe candidate, it goes to the candidate most near the middle.  In truth, if you want to play that card; nobody knows anything. Everything is speculation and conjecture until it isn’t. Theory and statistical analysis are pretty good pillars to lean on in the absence of empirical data from the future.

Rush is not far right? Perhaps he just isn’t far right to you because you happen to stand next to him.

And lastly, conservatism doesn’t fail when tried. Social conservatism fails when people try to pair it with true fiscal conservatism. Conservative fiscal policy and foreign policy have largely been successful.
While there is an intrinsic link between social policy and financial policy, a true social conservative would apply the same “stay out of my personal life” attitude that they apply to finance. Evangelicals ARE NOT the only members of the right, and they cannot co-opt social policy for the entire party.

The problem is, in practice, social conservatism is as intrusive and meddlesome as anything the social progressives have thrown out.

  • Sweetrae aka: LeAnn

Name a moderate GOP who ran as a moderate and won?

  • DanB_Tiffin

  • Awkwardly_Scripted

Who ran as a moderate, or who captured the moderate vote because they were, in fact moderates? Most of these men will say things that are middle of the road, only approaching true conservatism when they are speaking in rhetoric. Looking at their actions when in a position of power will tell you more about their politics than the things they say. They may not say they are moderates, but they act like moderates, especially to the far right. Many hard right conservatives believed that these men were moderates.

    -George H.W. Bush
    -Gerald Ford
    -Richard Nixon
    -George W. Bush
    -Dwight D. Eisenhower

The only undoubtedly true conservative president in modern times has been Reagan. All others have been accused of being moderates.

In fact, the trick that many moderate candidates use to capture both the middle and the right is to put a “true” conservative in the VP chair. It’s called balancing the ticket.

The last president that was more conservative than his VP was Reagan (recall that many in 1980 felt Bush was far too moderate to be conservative candidate).

The catch is, the true conservative and the conservative democrat have been the best presidents we have seen in a very long time (Misery index) There isn’t a true-in-action fiscal conservative with a chance to get the nomination, so who do we pull for; the guy that seems to be a moderate across the board, or the guy with the hard social conservative lean? Who has a better chance of winning? I think many people from the middle to the right can agree that the current administration needs to change, but an unmotivated middle might swing this election. This is not the middle of old either, most moderates are basically fiscal conservatives with unobtrusive moderate social views (we seem to call them libertarians). If the GOP throws a social conservative with a moderate fiscal history, do you think they will vote for him?

  • Marty0145

What in the hell does any of the ignorant crap you just wasted my time with have to do with anything being discussed?!?! You have completely made yourself look absolutely clueless, classless, and irrelevant to anyone. Really, what point are you trying to even make? Are you so blinded by irrational hatred of people who you caricature into evil villians because they don’t want to pay for you and your hippy friends’ casual sex that you will make yourself appear as stupid as you just did with that pointless, factless hateful little temper tantrum?

Please go out and share your opinions with everyone you can find. No one can prove my point that those of you supporting the contraception mandate are mouth breathing dolts better than you can. Be sure to tell everyone to vote Obama if they want your ideas implemented. You are a gift to the conservative movement and a shining example of the pinnacle of liberal ideology and the progressive movement in general. Keep up the great work.
(By the way, Rush’s Viagra was legal. His doctor prescribed it but it is filled under a different name because idiots on the left would have no problem bribing a pharmacy worker with access to that info in order to publically embarrass him. Being the useful idiot you are, I’d say you proved that it was a valid concern.)

  • Awkwardly_Scripted

I would agree then. Moderate conservatives that declare themselves moderate conservatives don’t get elected. Moderate conservatives that run as true blue conservatives get elected. They then proceed to toil with moderate policy. The line of moderation shifts like sand depending on how frustrated people are with the government.

    How’s this for starters?
    more to come, Alinsky Boy!

Rush Limbaugh has rejected an advertiser’s apparent attempt to reunite with his show after the company initially dropped its ads from the program following his remarks about contraception advocate Sandra Fluke.
The company, Sleep Train, calls itself “the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region.”
In an email to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen (obtained by The Blaze), a representative of the show says that Limbaugh personally considered the company’s request, but denied it considering its public comments following the controversy.
“Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show,” the email begins. “Rush received your requests personally.”
“Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh’s character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.
“Rush appreciates your long friendship and your past support, and we wish you good luck in the future.”
Last Friday, Sleep Train was vocal in its rejection of Limbaugh.
“As a diverse company, Sleep Train does not condone such negative comments directed toward any person,” the company said in a statement. “We have currently pulled our ads with Rush Limbaugh.”
According to the Washington Post, which tells the story of how the advertiser and Limbaugh started their relationship, Sleep Train had been an advertiser with Limbaugh for over 25 years. Last week, the Post noted how the company had only suspended its ads, not fully dropped the conservative commentator as a retail spokesperson. And while that may have left the door open for a reunion, that has now been rejected by Limbaugh.
“It’s a business decision, and it’s theirs alone to make,” Limbaugh said Monday morning regarding companies who had pulled ads. “They‘ve decided that they don’t want you anymore or your business.” On Wednesday, he also noted the media was misleading the public about the number of advertisers who had dropped the show.
“We’ll replace them,” he assured his audience.
The Blaze contacted Sleep Train for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.

“Insurance is not free”  You are absolutely correct, Wil. It costs the insurance providers and they past the cost onto those who pay. They pass the cost onto the payers all across the board, whether the payers use those “services” or not.  Distributed cost, all even Steven for all, or close enough.

Fluke said $3000 per year. I don’t know, there has been a lot of comments on true price here on Human Events. Maybe it could be as high as $3000 per year for the Cadillac plan, but it could be a lot lower.

So, I see this as going back to your previous comment of  “..Who?”.  If her costs are really $3000 per year, I do not believe the provider will increase their price by that much to everyone. So, she gets at least a very large portion of that cost paid by others, others who pay for their now-expanded insurance with no choice, but to pay for her services, also.

The situation is the same if her costs are really $250 per year. The provider will figure out how much this coverage will cost them and I do not think they will take a loss.

Those services will be paid for as they do not come to her out of thin air.  She pays a small percentage, OTHER PEOPLE, those being the others who are compelled to purchase this insurance will subsidize her.  (Insurance is compulsory at Georgetown, I hear.) If it is nationally mandated, then there is no choice. All who have this more expensive insurance must pay, somehow.

BTW, before you ask, I do not consider Viagra, birth control, etc. as proper subjects for insurance. They are choices, not health risks. Birth control pills for ovarian cysts is a different subject to me. That is a health risk, as I see it.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_DGT5LFXDWHPKRWLSI2WPBXIGXE Wil

Sandra Fluke is not asking anybody else to pay for anything. Students at
Georgetown law are required to purchase medical insurance if they don’t have
it already. She is not asking other to pay for their contraception “because
they don’t want to pay for it themselves.” This fundamental error makes the
points that follow from it a non-sequitur

And we get another example of clueless liberals losing the main argument about the injustice of forcing people to subsidize hippies’ sexual indulgences so instead they focus on an entirely irrelevant fact and try to shift attention away from the fact they are losing the debate.

If I were Rush, I would probably take the chance of not having my name on any potentially embarrassing prescriptions because people like the braindead liberals on this site look for anything they think they can use to publically humiliate him.
