Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner took a veiled shot at Hillary yesterday, questioning whether she has what it takes to win a national race, i.e., in red or purple states.
He said that although Hillary will be a formidable candidate, "We need to not simply look at the personality, but look at the ideas...I find all across the country there is a real sense that what we as Democrats have to do is not simply be competitive in 16 or 17 states, but actually have candidates that can win all across the country."
And then, as though channeling RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman, he added that "Simply having anger at Bush or his administration isn't going to get us there."
Warner better be careful. His criticism of Mrs. Clinton (albeit mild) may prompt her cheerleading newspaper, The New York Times, run another crazy photo of him.
