Reuters is running an online poll about media bias and the roll of media in society. So far over 38,000 people have participated in the poll. Here are some interesting results, so far.

  • 40% of Europeans trust the national governments the most to "work in the best interests of the society." Only 24% of North Americans feel the same.
  • 30% of Middle Eastern and North African respondents believe religious leaders "work in the best interests of the society." They ranked highest of all in this question and answer.
  • There seems to be fairly general agreement that the media does not always report objectively or what interests people.
  • Latin American and Caribbean respondents are the heaviest users of blogs as an "alternative news source."

The official results will be released in on May 5. You can participate in the E-survey here.
