President Bush got mixed responses as he discussed strategies for the war in Iraq during his speech.
He told Congress directly: "However we feel about the decisions and debates of the past, our Nation has only one option: We must keep our word, defeat our enemies, and stand behind the American military in its vital mission."
Applause was led by Republicans and military personnel while it was obvious Democrats weren't about to show support. TV cameras turned away awkwardly, focusing on more positive reactions to the President's words.
But when Bush insisted "liberty is the right and hope of all humanity," even Hillary Clinton had to stand up and clap - just in case her supporters were watching.
