I found this opinion piece from yesterday's Washington Post interesting. Village Voice columnist Anya Kamenetz writes about the young progressive movement and how they're "having some trouble getting the world to pay attention."
Yet she answers her own question by stating, "I know that there are millions of focused and articulate [young conservatives] in a coup of organization that progressives are just starting to duplicate." She also goes on to endorse stripping students' right to be recruited by the military.
Yes, young progressives organize rallies against the war, protest military recruiters, and hold numerous other issue-based events. But they are not noticed in the same way as conservatives since progressive ideas are nothing new on campus. Faculties and administrations are overwhelmingly liberal and have been for years. For proof, just read this study and this study.
