KENNY CODY: Trump sets the tone for conservative culture

On Easter Sunday, millions of Christians around the United States celebrated Resurrection Day with their friends, family, and church communities. While former President Donald Trump ensured that he wished his supporters a Happy Easter with a message dictating that “on Easter Sunday, we proclaim with joy, Christ is Risen,” President Joe Biden’s Administration issued a specific proclamation that that May 31st was “National Transgender Visibility Day.” Rightfully so, many conservative politicians, pundits, and voters were outraged at the fact that not only was the day made to be on Easter Sunday, but that the Biden Administration made sure to make statements that put the recognition on par with Easter. In addition, Biden ensured that any faith-related items or imagery from the White House’s Easter decorations were banned by his administration, signifying their attempt to erase Christian influence on their holiday.

As with a significant amount of political posturing over the last decade, conservatives responded with unabashed statements of their Christian faiths, and even those who may not celebrate the holiday acknowledged how ridiculous it was that the ‘visibility’ was being published on every social media and internet platform by the executive branch as humanly possible. Politicians such as Ohio U.S. Senator JD Vance, Georgia Congressman Mike Collins, and more had backlash to the fake holiday. Collins responded with his usual meme, and Vance demanded a firing from the President’s staff on whoever made the decision.

Before, it might have held that Republicans would ignore the apparent gaslighting from Democrats when attempting to poke fun at the Christian faith and conservatives in general with a holiday title such as “National Transgender Visibility Day.” Still, instead, we saw an appropriate response from several members of the conservative movement to a disrespectful embrace of mental illness perceived as acceptance.

This attitude of firebrand has been embraced throughout the GOP and conservative movement at large because of the attitude that Donald Trump exhibits in being unafraid to trigger, offend, and fight back against the cultural Marxism that is being injected into American society. While Ronna McDaniel’s GOP may have attempted to make the Republican Party more accepting of a delusion with her diversity outreach programs to be like leftists, most conservatives in Trump’s GOP reject the idea of having to peddle to any one group for votes or accept moral systems that do not align with the conservative identity.

One of the most forgotten policies of President Trump’s administration in terms of cultural conservatism was his position to ban transgender individuals from enlisting in the military, which was one of the first and most significant executive moves to derail the LGBT impact on federal policy in recent memory. Without the forethought of the Trump administration to get out ahead and implement a policy that drew significant criticism from the left, many on the conservative right may not have seen the incoming onslaught of forced acceptance of the transgender movement on the political spectrum. The response to this policy many, deemed as common sense with mental instability, should have been one of the most significant signs of cultural collapse that the country was headed for. Still, as usual, Trump was right on one of the essential cultural battles of the current political sphere.

What many thought was just a live-and-let-live cultural issue in transgender acceptance has now become one of the most energetic, emotional, and chaotic debates of the last twenty years of politics. While most conservative leaders did not know how to combat the tyrannical advocacy of this lunatic fringe of a movement, Donald Trump had the hindsight to give the GOP the blueprint on how to handle the issue precisely and stands firm on it today with statements such as the one he made on Easter Sunday.

The Republican Party has to accept that Trump’s firebrand nature is precisely how you win in politics. Standing idly by as American society slowly erodes into a bastion of progressive ineptitude. The roadmap to Republicans not only winning the culture war but actual elections has to go through Trump and the MAGA base, or it will be doomed to living in a world entirely of Marxist "tolerance."
